![]() Other Finnish American Organizations RONDO Article on Anna-Maria Helsing | Finlandia Foundation ![]() ![]() ![]() This website, like our chapter, is intended for the information, edification and entertainment of everyone in the Bay Area who is a Finn, an honorary Finn, an enthusiast, or a supporter/promoter of Finnish and Finnish-American culture. Founded originally as the Palo Alto–Stanford Chapter and closely associated with the university and its faculty at the time of its founding, our chapter changed its name a few years ago to reflect its broader demographic reach, and we celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2006. At present, we have at least four events/programs each year. These include appearances by the Finlandia Foundation Performer of the Year (POY) and Lecturer of the Year (LOY); an annual Nordic Concert; a Night at the Opera or Symphony (up to now, San Francisco) when a Finnish artist is featured; this is followed, when possible, by a reception for the visiting artist. The venue for our periodic events is almost always the First Presbyterian Church in Palo Alto [which has an excellent Fellowship Hall!]. We also love a good party, as witness our annual autumn event and Pikkujoulu. Sunday, Febuary 10, 2013 2:30 pm
